The management company called with a request from the tenant: The burner won’t work properly. Our purpose is to identify and repair while checking for problem areas.

Today’s training will include:
Safety, Identifying existing, matching style, Kelvin ratings, proper housing connection, testing and longevity of new fixture.
1. Safety Start with OFF
Contractor Responsibility
Unplug appliance or turn OFF breaker
VERIFY POWER IS OFF WITH A TESTER
Confirm cooktop is cool
Use insulated tools

2. Identify the Failure
Confirm which burner is not working
Swap with known working burner
Repair or Replacement
Inspect: For • Burn marks • Loose terminals • Brittle or overheated wiring

3. Burner Replacement
Confirm correct size and rating
Insert element fully into receptacle
Ensure terminals seat firmly
Verify stable fit

4. Receptacle & Wiring Repair
Check for Damaged Wiring
Replace Wire as Possible
Heat Shrink Tube all Frayed Wires

5. Testing & Heat Verification
Restore Power
Turn burner to medium
Observe even glow pattern
Use heat laser thermometer to confirm
temperature rise
Check for odor, arcing, or instability

Summary:
Power safely disconnected and verified. Failure isolated through swap testing. Element or receptacle replaced with high-heat components. Wiring repaired and shielded. Final temperature verified using heat laser. Repair complete. Customer satisfied.
